The escalating adoption of digital social media platforms among adolescents has been recognized as a potential determinant of psychological distress, particularly heightened stress levels. This study aimed to examine the correlation between digital social media use and stress levels among students at SMAN 1 Tondano during the 2025/2026 academic year. A quantitative observational research approach utilizing a cross-sectional design was conducted. The study sample comprised 84 high school students selected through a simple random sampling technique. Primary data were gathered using two standardized instruments, namely the Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS) to evaluate digital social media usage patterns and the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS-42) to assess psychological stress levels. Statistical analysis using the chi-square test yielded a (), indicating a statistically significant relationship between digital social media engagement and stress levels among students at SMAN 1 Tondano. Consequently, students are strongly advised to demonstrate digital literacy by utilizing social media platforms judiciously and regulating their screen time duration to prevent disruptions in daily academic and personal routines.
