Pengaruh Pendidikan Kesehatan Tentang Kebersihan Lingkungan Terhadap Pencegahan Demam Berdarah Dengue

Abstract

Cases of severe dengue fever can cause spontaneous bleeding, plasma leakage, and even shock due to a significant drop in blood pressure (dengue shock syndrome), which has the potential to be life threatening.   The aim of the research is to determine the influence of health education regarding environmental cleanliness on the prevention of dengue fever in the community in Paal 4 Village, Manado City. This research is quasi-experimental with the research design used being the One-Group Pre-Post Design Research test which was carried out in July 2025 in Paal 4 Village, Manado City. The population in this study was the entire population who did not suffer from or had not been affected by dengue fever aged over 25 years, there were 67 samples in the study using Slovin's formula, namely 30 samples. The statistical test used was t pairet with a significance level of 95 % (α < 0.05). The results are known that the prevention of dengue fever in the community before being given health education about environmental cleanliness was mostly good, namely 17 respondents (56.7%), where the average before being given health education was 15.57 with a minimum score of 11 and a maximum score of 19, with a standard deviation of 2.555, while after being given health education about environmental cleanliness, most of the prevention of dengue fever was good, namely 24 respondents (80.0%). The results of the t paired test where the p value is 0.000, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. In conclusion, from the research results, there is an influence of health education regarding environmental cleanliness on the prevention of dengue fever in the community in Paal 4 Village, Manado City. Advice for the public to increase information and self-awareness about healthy living behavior by collaborating with health agencies in providing counseling.
